To enter the Team Challenge you must read and accept every rule

These rules matter. If you don't follow them, your fish or your whole team can be disqualified.

What the Team Challenge is

You and your mates fish as a team, as well as fishing for yourself in your age division. Your team's four longest snapper get added together. Biggest total wins. You're still in for every individual prize as well.

How this page works

Take your time — nothing here is timed. Seven rules, about four minutes. If you close the page before you finish you’ll start again from Rule 1, so it’s worth doing in one go.

Teams: 2 to 5 anglers

Read this rule
  • Teams can have 2–5 registered Two Bays anglers.
  • You can only be in one team.
  • Once the comp starts, teams are locked in — no swapping or adding people.

Your best 4 snapper count

Locked

Add up the length of your team's 4 longest snapper. That's your team score.

Those four fish can come from one person or from everyone — it doesn't matter who caught them, as long as they're all in your team.

  3. Fish 376 cm
  4. Fish 473 cm

Catch a bigger one later? It knocks out your smallest of the four, and your score goes up.

One fish = one entry

Locked
  • Each fish can only be entered once.
  • The fish must be entered by the angler who caught it.
  • A fish cannot be entered again or claimed by another team member.

Entering the same fish twice on purpose, or claiming someone else's fish, can get your whole team thrown out.

Keeping or releasing your fish

Keeping it?

Same branded brag mat, laid flat. Caught another good one the same trip? Put both fish in the photo together. That shows us they're two different fish and not the same one entered twice.

Releasing it?

Start recording before you measure it and don't stop until the fish is back in the water. One video, all in one go.

No cuts.
No pauses.
No breaks.

We have to be able to see it's the same fish going back in the water as the one you measured.

If we can't see that clearly, the fish doesn't count.

Keep your originals on your phone

Do not delete your original catch photos or videos

Leave every catch photo and video on the phone you took it on until the results are final. Don't clear your photos out.

Do not rely on:

  • Screenshots
  • Facebook copies
  • Messenger copies
  • Downloaded files
  • Forwarded files

Keep the originals on the original device.

Top 10: we will check your phone

Top 10 teams — we will check your phone at presentation day

If your team looks like finishing in the top 10, bring the actual phone you took the photos and videos on to presentation day. We check it before your placing is confirmed. It only takes a few minutes.

We will check:

  • The original photos and videos
  • Date and time
  • The camera and phone details saved with the file
  • The file information saved with the photo
  • Other photos or videos from that fishing trip, if we need them
  • The full measure-and-release video, if you let the fish go

If different people in your team took the photos, we need to see each of their phones.

A screenshot or a copy someone sent you is not enough. We need the original on the original phone.

No satisfactory original evidence = the fish does not count.

No AI, altered or false entries

Locked

The following are prohibited:

  • AI-generated fish
  • Altered fish size or measurements
  • Manipulated catch evidence
  • Duplicate fish
  • Deliberately false entries

Cheating gets your whole team thrown out.

Winning the Team Challenge

The team with the biggest total from their 4 longest snapper wins.

If two teams end up on exactly the same total, whoever got their four fish in first wins.

All normal Two Bays Snapper Challenge rules, boundaries and fish-verification requirements also apply.
