What the Club Challenge is
You fish for your club as well as for yourself, in whichever age division you enter. Your club's four longest snapper get added together. Biggest total wins the Club Challenge trophy. You're still in for every individual prize — nominating a club costs you nothing.

Who’s got the best fishing club in Victoria?
Everyone reckons their club is the best. For nine days in spring, we find out.
Every club has that bloke. The one who always seems to find them. The one whose name keeps coming up at presentation night. Now it’s not just him — it’s the whole club, and it’s every other club in the state watching the board.
How the bragging rights get settled
Your club’s four longest snapper get added together. That’s the score. It doesn’t matter whether they come from four different members or one bloke having the week of his life — if they fished under your club’s name, they count.
Which means the club with the best single angler doesn’t automatically win. The club that gets the most members out on the water does. Twenty members having a crack beats two members having a good one.
Nine days. Two bays. One trophy.
Port Phillip Bay and Western Port, 12:01am Friday 30 October through to 11:59pm Saturday 7 November. Fish your spots, fish your tides, fish your marks. Every eligible snapper your members log pushes the club total up and pushes someone else down.
The trophy gets handed over at presentation day in front of a thousand people at the Frankston Bombers. One club walks out with it. Everyone else waits twelve months for another go.
So — is your club worthy?
There are fishing clubs all over Victoria — the northern suburbs around Greensborough, Epping, Craigieburn, Essendon and Preston; the west through Altona, Williamstown, Werribee, Footscray and Melton; Geelong and the Bellarine; the bayside suburbs; the Mornington Peninsula; and right around Western Port. Some have been going fifty years. Some have twelve members and a shed. None of that decides this.
What decides it is who turns up.
