Shallow Inlet – Family Whiting Adventure – 🌊 First Time Fishing
🚤 Why We Loved It
- Beach Launch: Unique experience launching the boat straight off the sand with the kids onboard — exciting and accessible!
- Family Vibes: This was all about getting the kids involved, exploring new waters, and chasing our first Shallow Inlet whiting together.
- Safe & Scenic: Calm, sheltered conditions made it perfect for young anglers to learn the ropes without any stress.
🎣 The Fishing
We used Reedy’s Rigs pre-tied whiting rigs with squid strips and pipis as bait — deadly combo. Drifting across the seagrass beds gave us plenty of bites and loads of fun for the kids. Whiting up to 40cm were landed!
🛏️ Stay Nearby
If you’re keen to make a trip out of it, Waratah Bay is just around the corner with plenty of Airbnb and family-friendly accommodation. The peaceful views and beach access make it a great spot to relax after a day on the water.
🐟 More Than Just Fishing
Besides fishing, Shallow Inlet offers bird watching, paddling, beach walks, and easy access to Wilsons Promontory National Park — making it ideal for full-day adventures with the family.
